School magazine : Final piece
School magazine: Final front cover and contents page
This is my final piece for my front cover and contents page. In comparison to my planning, its evident that I changed a lot of things.
First things first, my masthead. I decided to change it from 'chillax' to '16+' as I felt that the original masthead didn't show a link between itself and student sixth form life. I then changed it to '16+' as it easily highlighted what and who the magazine was targeted to.
Another thing which I changed was my background image. Originally I planned to have my models pose outside chucking papers into the air but lighting didn't agree with me so I changed it to the models sitting in the library smiling. I kept everything else the same.

School magazine: Planning
School magazine: Planning
We was all set a task to create a school magazine including the front cover and contents page.

I decided I wanted to call my magazine 'chillax'. The name came to me as I wanted my magazine to connote a calmness to it, that it was a relaxing magazine that students could sit back and read.
The story lines I decided to use were all based on the ideas of how to enjoy and survive sixth form life. I used sell lines such as ' How to enjoy sixth form life' 'external student? Steps on how to fit in' etc.
In terms of cinematography, I visualised a couple of students jumping into the air chucking papers with smiles on their faces. I felt this would link in nicely with my masthead. The sort of shot I wanted was a long shot so we could see students head to toe and also that the background could be visible.
The target was obviously sixth formers, so the ages between 16-18 and I wanted to target both male and females who are serious about their studies and want to succeed in their subjects.
The mise en scene for the front cover and contents page would be quite simple, I would have students in their normal smart attire with their land yards on. The location I would want to do this in is near the field bit of my sixth form where the trees and leaves are placed to give the image a relaxing feel. For the contents page images, I would place the students in various places in school doing various activities.
